Oscar Newman (1935-2004) was an architect, planner, and theorist. Newman was best known for his theories on crime prevention and residential design, which he introduced in his book Defensible Space. This collection contains the majority of Newman's projects and writings spanning from the early 1960s to the late 1990s. It consists of textual materials in the form of correspondence, notes, written and typed drafts, and publications; accompanied by prints, negatives, slides, drawings, and audio/visual material.

Olgivanna Lloyd Wright papers, ca. 1925-1985

Olgivanna Lloyd Wright (Olga Lazović, Olga Lazović Hinzenburg) b. Montenegro, December 27, 1898- March 1, 1985, married Frank Lloyd Wright in 1928. She was a dancer, author, and composer and helped found and operate the Taliesin Fellowship. She was vital to the preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright's legacy through the Taliesin Fellowship, preservation and fundraising campaigns, and publications on her late husband and his work, including her books Our House, The Shining Brow, the Roots of Life, and Frank Lloyd Wright: His Life, His Work, His Words. The collection contains extensive correspondence as well as Olgivanna Lloyd Wright's notes, drafts and typed manuscripts of her books and unpublished writing, autobiographical material, transcriptions of taped audio material including weekly talks to the Taliesin Fellowship as well as public talks, and newspaper clippings of published articles.

His firm was best known for designing New York City townhouses in the Beaux-Arts style. The collection includes 1,641 architectural drawings, 196 student drawings, 14 student notebooks, 99 loose photographs and 3 photo albums of project photography, project specifications and files, and some professional ephemera.

Greene & Greene architectural drawings and records, 1896-1931

The American architectural firm Greene & Greene was a partnership between the brothers Charles Sumner Greene (1868-1957) and Henry Mather Greene (1870-1954). The firm, established in 1894, was officially dissolved in 1922, after which the two practiced independently. They were active in Southern California and were part of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. During the years 1907-1909 the Greenes created some of their most renowned residences, including the Blacker, Gamble, Pratt, and Thorsen houses. They also designed interiors, creating furniture, lighting, carpets, and stained glass for their clients. Greene & Greene architectural drawings and records spans the years circa 1896 to circa 1963. The collection chiefly consists of architectural drawings (approximately 4,800) and also includes photographs, personal papers, and other manuscript material. Access to digital images of all the architectural drawings and to selected photographs are provided in the finding aid.
