These papers relate to her governmental activities and provide an important documentary record of her career to 1950. Included are mimeographed and typed copies of minutes of the various committees upon which she served, city bills and other municipal legislation, correspondence, memoranda, notes, etc. Earle family papers have been added. There is also a microfilm copy of Asher William Schwartz's A STUDY OF THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL

Eighteen letters of Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, friend of Queen Anne, wife of the great English military commander, and ancestress of Sir Winston Churchill. The letters contain comments on the political events of the day, particularly the Jacobite cause, the building of Blenheim Palace, and family affairs. The letters were the subject of an article"The Duchess Speaks Her Mind" by Dallas Pratt in the "Columbia Library Columns" May 1965, pp. 27-42. There are also letters by Jonathan Swift, 13 May 1740; John Constable, 14 Dec. 1833 and 18 Dec. 1834; George W. Wales, 22 Jan. 1859; and a document signed by Louis XIV, 13 Oct. 1705. In addition, there are nine original photographs of Rupert Brooke, taken in London, 1913, by the American photographer Sherril Schell, as well as a photostatic copy of poems from the Rugby notebook of Rupert Brooke. The Telford Taylor Papers collect the work of Telford Taylor as a lawyer, legal scholar, writer, and historian. The documents include Taylor's work in Nuremberg with the International and Nuremberg Military Tribunals, his work within departments created by the New Deal, some of his legal case files (particularly on civil liberties cases), and other professional interests that Taylor had. The collection also contains Taylor's writings including drafts of his books, speeches, interviews, teaching materials, and much of the research behind these pursuits. The genre of materials includes official reports, correspondence, manuscripts, annotated texts and photographs. The collection also contains Taylor's research materials in the form of annotations, notes, and clippings.
