Primarily a collection of overseas editions (small formats, light-weight paper, no advertisements) of popular magazines for the Armed Forces distrubuted by the Special Services Division, U.S. Army, and by the Bureau of Navy personnel. Among the titles represented are: Esquire; New Yorker; Newsweek; Time; Pic; Readers Digest; Down Beat; and an array of comic books. In addition, there are guides to foreign countries, War Department education manuals in the G. I. Roundtable Series, books on the organization and administration of an army library, training manuals for army hospital librarians, and a copy of the R.B. [Reference and Recreational Book] LIBRARY CATALOG: AN INDEX TO THE BOOKS INCLUDED IN THE 1945 RECREATIONAL LIBRARIES FOR AMERICAN SOLDIERS OVERSEAS (New York: H. W. Wilson, 1944). This collections contains the professional research, writing, publications, and correspondence produced and collected by Rattner through her study of the architect James Renwick, Jr. The bulk of Rattner's research addresses the life and works of Renwick, but other research topics represented in her papers range from the Renwick family genealogy to the institutional architecture of New York City. Types of research material include personal research notes (in notecard format, both typed and holograph), correspondence (1963-2001), newspaper and magazine clippings, Xerox copies of archival material and secondary sources, transcribed articles and correspondence, brochures from historic sites, photographs and slides of buildings and sites, sketches, historic structure inventory forms, landmark nomination forms, landmark designation reports, and postcards.

The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, clippings, books and periodicals. There are two letters from Aleksandr Glazunov and one each from Aleksandr Grechaninov and Nikolaĭ Metner. The manuscripts deal with both cultural affairs and the Russian Revolution. Among the cultural topics are essays on music, Isadora Duncan, Maksim Gorḱiĭ and literary affairs. There are articles about general aspects of the Revolution and about such individuals as Lenin, Stalin, Chicherin, Dzerzhinskiĭ and Kamenev. Many of the articles are memoiristic in nature, particularly those about life in Moscow and in the provinces during the Revolution, Dzerzhinskiĭ and Kamenev. There are clippings of articles written by Sabaneev and a number of books and periodicals either written by Sabaneev or containing articles by him.

The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts by Melńikov and others, documents, photographs, subject files and printed materials. There is a cataloged letter from George Kennan. Correspondence consists primarily of letters from various members of the Don Cossacks in exile, including General A.P. Bogaevskiĭ, Melńikov, and General V.V. Naumenko. Manuscripts include Melńikov's typescript memoirs "Pochemu 'belye' na i︠u︡ge ne pobedili krasnykh?"(230 p.). Reports, by members of the Don government in exile, are on the economy of Southeast Russia. Photographs and documents concern the Don Cossacks. Subject files primarily cover the Don Cossacks during the Civil War in exile. They include several signed letters and memos by General Denikin dated 1920. The financial records of the Don government in exile cover the years 1921-1926. The bulk of the printed materials consists of issues No. 51-272 (1930-1939) of the journal "Volńoe kazachestvo," published in Prague and later in Paris. Among the printed materials there is also a pamphlet dated 1919 and entitled "Vremennoe polozhenie o grazhdanskom upravlenii v mestnosti︠a︡kh, nakhodi︠a︡schikhsi︠a︡ pod verkhovnym upravleniem glavnokomandui︠u︡schego vooruzhennymi silami na i︠u︡ge Rossii." The majority of the material in the collection concerns the Don Cossacks in emigration.

Records of the Citizens Committee for the Protection of the Environment (CCPE) include correspondence, memoranda, reports, statements, notes, news releases, U.S. Atomic Energy/Nuclear Regulatory Commission hearing records, and printed material. The correspondence contains letters from supporters, members of other environmental groups, New York State legislators, U.S. senators and congressmen, scientists, and CCPE's attorney for the Indian Point hearings. Chief correspondents of the group are Larry Bogart, Executive Director, Dr. George Candreva, President, and Irene P. Dickinson (Mrs. Leon A.), Executive Secretary and Coordinator, whose file these are. There are numerous letters from Congressmen John G. Dow, Richard Ottinger, and Peter Peyser. The cataloged correspondence contains three letters from Senator Jacob K. Javits, and one each from Senator Edmund S. Muskie, Senator Margaret Chase Smith, and Louis J. Lefkowitz, New York State Attorney General.
