This finding aid includes the paper issues held by the University Archives and the online issues available via the Hathi Trust. The Columbia Alumni News was a weekly publication until February 24, 1933. From March 1933 to June 1942, the magazine was published twice a month, and then moved to a monthly publication from October 1942 to the end of its run in 1957. Volumes of the Columbia Alumni News were scanned from Columbia University and the University of Michigan. For those volumes which were scanned by both institutions, both links are included. The scanned volumes sometimes include additional items (e.g., Annual Report) and some individual issue numbers may be missing. Volume 1 and Volumes 40-48 are only available in print (and not yet online).

Also, Mayer's impressions of India, his colleagues, Jawaharal Nehru and other Indian government officials, Indian-American relations, and personal matters.

These "morgue" files contain newspaper clipplings, articles, press releases, book reviews, offprints, class reunion questionnaires, birth, marriage and death notices, change of address forms, some photographs and correspondence with the magazine, including submissions for the Class Notes section. The Alumni Federation included all Columbia schools: Columbia College but also Law, Physician and Surgeons, Journalism, Architecture, Pharmacy, etc. Files are organized alphabetically by the alum's last name and date from around 1919 to 1955.

100 itemsThe collection of the Russian Religious News Service (New York) consists of carbons of translations from the Soviet press, issued by the Service chiefly in the period 1927-1933. Many of the translations concern the decadence of Soviet youth, but most deal with religion in the USSR. A few items concern Russian Orthodoxy in the emigration.

Dickins, the "editor in Britain" from the contributors, manuscripts submitted for publication, and letters about the launching party for the magazine on 31 July 1956.
