This series contains scrapbooks as they were assembled by Smith to document his heresy trial, as well as the contemporaneous trial of Charles Augustus Briggs. The first five volumes of the collection include scrapbooks of clippings, notes and pasted-in correspondence detailing the trial and its coverage in periodicals and newspapers at the time, followed by a scrapbook of articles dated 1881 to 1900, and finally three scrapbooks on Hebrew literature.

This series contains a diary printed for the year 1846 with the title "Ministerial Nativities and Changes" written in pen on the cover. A handwritten note on the title page verso indicates that it is "in the handwriting of Dr. Edwin F. Hatfield, stated clerk of the Presbyterian General Assembly." Dr. Hatfield served as a special agent to Union Theological Seminary in 1864 and 1870. The volume does not appear to have been used as a diary or datebook and instead mostly contains ledger-like notations on subjects such as ordinations and licensures. Folder 2 contains a scrapbook of writings, news clippings, invitations, programs, and other printed matter relating to committee work at Union Theological Seminary, as well as a printed letter dated May 8, 1899 from Charles Cuthbert Hall to the senior class. Folder 3 contains a scrapbook of letters, clippings, and notes relating to the General Assembly's committee on revision of the confession of faith collected by Hastings. Box 2, folder 1 contains a scrapbook of news clippings that may be said to be of an inspirational nature. A handwritten index to the clippings appears at the beginning of the volume and additional notes in pencil occasionally appear.

This series contains two manuscript notebooks, which are 'private journals' containing Hall's handwritten notes on his life as a pastor and other events, including a visit to Europe. This series also contains a scrapbook of clippings including a selection of Hall's sermons and letters, as well as brief family history and a pew plan.

This series contains journals, a scrapbook, and clippings that Sites collected while in China. The bulk of the material covers his early years in China. This was a foundational period among Protestant missions in China because they were given new access to mission fields, and important mission organizations such as the China Inland Mission were being founded; the fact that Sites supported the indigenization of the church in China during this early period, as revealed in this material, is significant, as this movement only gained widespread support among missionaries decades later. The journals describe his life in Fuzhou as well as trips through the surrounding countryside. Many of the clippings collected in the scrapbook are from articles and published letters written by Sites' wife, Sarah Moore Sites. Others deal with aspects of Chinese culture or Christian religious life.

This series contains diaries, address books, expense records, photographs, a copy of the 1946 Anglican Bishops Report from the Diocese of Rangoon, and other personal items relating to Davis's life before, during, and after her missionary work in Burma from 1899-1931. The bulk of the collection is diaries. Earlier diary entries (1892-1899) reveal the details of her final years at Franklin College, her announcement to her father of her intention to become a foreign missionary, and her entrance into the American Baptist Foreign Missionary Union's training program in Chicago. There are only two brief diaries from her time in Burma: one from February 1900, and a later entry on scrap paper from July 22, 1916. These entries, however, contain information including the weather in Burma, descriptions of the villages, relationships between Protestant and Catholic missionary stations, and folk tales from the Karen people, an ethnic group in Southern Burma. Most of the diaries in the collection document Davis's life after returning to the United States; spanning from 1932 to 1940, they discuss her life traveling locally and participating in various church-related activities, as well as the details of her family relationships, and records of the weather with great consistency and detail. In addition to diaries, the collection contains nine address books, six ledgers of Davis' expense records that date from 1916 to 1937, and three memo books containing a combination of addresses, expenses, notes, and diary entries, some of which relate to her time in Burma. The collection also includes an undated account of Davis' memories from childhood, some correspondence, a Longmans' Burmese Primer from 1933 with language exercises in Burmese phonetics, an undated class grade record, and a document entitled "Ecclesia Resurgens: Bishop's Report for the half year ending 31st Dec. 1945." Printed in 1946, this report was compiled by George Algernon West, Anglican Lord Bishop of Rangoon, who was one of the first British civilians allowed back into Burma after the defeat of the Japanese in World War II. It details his experience of post-war return, including an account of rebuilding his cathedral, which had been converted into a distillery for Japanese occupiers, the process of re-establishing the diocesan administration, and stories of Christian victory and persecution during wartime. There is also scrapbook of photographs, some of which are presumably from her time in Burma.

This series contains a variety of Schaff's memorabilia, including a photograph album, books of pressed flowers from the Holy Land, an autobiographical scrapbook, periodicals, two books, and a semi-centennial booklet dedicated to Schaff. In the photograph album are 58 photographs of Schaff's Academic contacts, most of which are named in Schaff's own hand, e.g. Patrick Fairbairn of Glasgow, Dr. Grimm of Jena, "Winchester", Dr. Harnack. Some however are named in another later hand with some inaccuracies. Philip Schaff dedicated his autobiographical scrapbook "For my Children," giving rise to the possibility that this may have been used by David Schaff in his published biography of his father. Contents include: biographical note, list of publications, and clippings, articles, invitations, programs, and letters, including one from Schaff's daughter Meta and one from William Gladstone. The Semi-Centennial booklet was produced in 1892 in honor of Schaff's fifty years of teaching, dating from his first lecture at University of Berlin in 1842. The booklet includes a congratulatory address from the University of Berlin, notes or letters from Dr. Weiss, Dr. Harnack, the Union Seminary faculty, and Charles Butler, a student publication in honor of Schaff, and newspaper clippings.
