Mike Friedrich began his comics career as a fanzine contributor before, beginning at age 18, writing comics stories for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. In the second half of the 1970s, he published Star*Reach, an independent comics anthology that included both mainstream and alternative artists. In the early 1980s, Friedrich used the same name for his comics creators agency. He was also co-founder of WonderCon, which Comic-Con International purchased in 2001. The collection includes client directories, income journals, client surveys, contracts, Star*Reach promotional swag, and more. Friedrich has received the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic-Book Writing, which recognizes underappreciated comics writers.

Douglas Darden (1951-1996) was an American architect based out of Denver, Colorado. Darden was best known for his book Condemned Building, a collection of ten allegorical projects. This collection contains much of Darden's work for that book as well as the process work for his second book, Laughing Girls, which he was working on at the time of his death. It also contains a large portion of his early works and his professional papers in the form of documents, drawings, photographs, and slides.

This collection belonged to an award-winning horror writer who worked for Mirage Studios (the TMNT studio) in the early 1990s, writing the TMNT newspaper strip. There is original art for never-reprinted newspaper strips (1993) complete with thumbnails, comic book manuscripts with editorial notation, story idea notebooks, minicomics produced by Mirage Studios, and manuscript materials for a host of secondary TMNT materials, including The Official TMNT Treasury. Many of the secondary materials are autographed by TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
