The Dan Talbot Papers document the business operation of the New Yorker Films, an independent film acquisition and distribution company, dating from 1960s to 2008, as well as movie theaters in the Upper West Side Manhattan which he operated, dating from 1960 to 2007. It is of particular relevance to New Yorkers as the Talbots operated the New Yorker Theater, Cinema Studio, Metro, and Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, on the Upper West Side, as popular venues to view independent and foreign films.

This collection documents the professional work of film critic, professor, and author, Amos Vogel. The bulk of the records are concerned with numerous films that Vogel has screened for Cinema 16, the independent film society that he founded and directed for sixteen years, as well as administrative records, correspondence, photographs, and printed material.

The New York State Democratic Committee (NYSDC) is the official organization of the Democratic Party in the State of New York. The NYSDC adopts and approves changes in the rules that govern party membership, meetings, delegates, conventions, nominations, campaigns, and other functions that take place within the Democratic Party.

The collection consists entirely of material related to the 1996 documentary written and directed by Joan Laskoff about the life and times of Hungarian-American journalist and newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer, Pulitzer and What He Prized. Photographic copies of images used in the film, many of which originally appeared in print publications during mid-19th to early 20th centuries, comprise most of the collection. Color slides of the images are also included. Record books, in which Laskoff indexes the images, make up the remainder of the collection.

This collection documents the personal and political life of Herbert H. Lehman, who served as lieutenant governor, governor, and senator of New York, and as director-general of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.

Two-time Tony-award winner Desmond Heeley (1931-2016) was a British-American costume and set designer who worked primarily in theater, ballet, and opera. His productions have graced the stages of major theaters in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Australia, and Europe, including the Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, Australian Ballet, and the Stratford Festival in Ontario. This collection contains Heeley's sketches and designs, along with production documents, photographs, correspondence, audio recordings, and other memorabilia relating to his life and work.

The records document the founding and development of Amnesty International of the USA, Inc. (AIUSA) and its national office. AIUSA is the largest national section of Amnesty International, an international human rights non-governmental organization (NGO). The records include material related to the board of directors, executive directors, administration, operations, campaigns, casework, publicity, special projects, and the work of the organization and its membership on human rights issues.

Tony Kushner (b. 1956) is an American author, playwright, and screenwriter. He received a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Angels in America: Millennium Approaches in 1993. The papers include address books, awards, certificates, correspondence, drafts and revisions, notebooks and notes, outlines, photographs, posters, press clippings, programs, production materials, promotional materials, proofs, props, research materials, scores, screenplays, scripts, speeches, and translations.

A collection of scrapbooks, scripts, sheet music, and photographs chronicling the career of the Tony award winning actress and singer Patti LuPone.

Maurice Peress (1930-2017) was an American orchestra conductor, arranger, author, and educator. The papers include audio and video recordings, clippings, contracts, correspondence, diaries, memorabilia, notebooks, photographs, posters, programs, research materials, reviews, scores, scrapbooks, and working files, sketches, and other materials.
