The office files of the University Librarian's Office of Columbia University Libraries, 1889-1948, are composed is composed chiefly of correspondence sent and received between Columbia University Librarians, library staff, Columbia University administrators, and outside individuals and organizations, as well as related reports, budgets, as well as related reports, budgets, and administrative material concerning the history of the library.

The Hettie Jones Papers contains correspondence, writings, and teaching materials related to Hettie Jones' career as a writer, editor, and teacher in the New York City Beat and Downtown literary scene, from the 1960s through the 2000s. Included are manuscripts from Jones' numerous books of poetry and children's and young adult novels, as well as her 1990 autobiography, How I Became Hettie Jones. The collection also features materials from her time as co-editor of Totem Press and Yugen literary journal. A small amount of material pertaining to Jones' former husband, the poet LeRoi Jones/Amiri Baraka, including unpublished early manuscripts and photographs is also here.

Lydia Davis (1947-) is an American short story writer, novelist, essayist, and translator from French and other languages. She is the author of several collections of short stories, one novel, two collections of essays, and several translations. The papers include address books, calendars, contracts, correspondence, drafts, interviews, journals, manuscripts, notes, proofs, publications, school records, and teaching files.

The Historical Subject Files Collection documents Columbia University history and related topics from 1754 to the present. The collection includes articles, booklets, clippings, correspondence, memoranda, non-photographic images, notes, pamphlets, posters, press releases, programs and reports.

Eleanor Pepper was a pioneer in the field of interior design, running one of the first departments of interior design in an architecture office before opening her own practice in 1950. The collection contains papers related to Eleanor Pepper's professional and academic lives, and includes some personal papers, mostly in the form of resumes and biographical sketches.
