Newspaper clippings mounted in scrapbooks by Chamberlian. Volumes 1 through 8 are clippings of Chamberlain's articles filed for the NEW YORK SUN, 1892-1900. Volume 9 has clippings for his articles filed for the BOSTON EVENING TRANSCRIPT, 1895-1896.

Eleven diaries which reveal a sensitive and perceptive young woman. With her family, she traveled extensively in England, the United States, and most countries of the Continent. Her diaries describe her reactions to foreign scenes and places, and contain numerous references to her father and to her visit to Columbia University early in 1889. Also, a typewritten description of the diaries of Eleanor Joy's son, Sir Douglas Busk; and a copy of THE ANCESTORS OF PATRICK AND PERONELLE KINNEL, compiled by Sir Douglas Busk in 1970.

College speeches, notebooks and class exercises relating to King's undergraduate years at Columbia, letters written to and by King during his period in London, documents and incoming correspondence relating to his legal practice, correspondence from his career in Congress, speeches and petitions relating to Maine politics, and materials relating to statehood for the District of Maine, the War of 1812, and related contemporary events. The majority of the correspondence consists of letters written to King by various people, but there are also a number of letters, documents, and miscellaneous papers written by King in the collection.

Correspondence, diaries, and speeches of Marriner. The correspondence contains letters from Charles Francis Adams, Brendan Bracken, Charles G. Dawes, Walter E. Edge, James A. Farley, Myron T. Herrick, Frank B. Kellogg, Dwight W. Morrow, Henry L. Stimson, Jesse Isidor Straus, and various members of the Roosevelt family. Marriner's diaries, covering the years 1918-1936, in twenty volumes, cover the periods he spent in Stockholm, Bucharest, Budapest, Washington, London, Paris, and Beirut. Also, a file of Marriner's speeches, his autograph guest book, a typescript copy of his Harvard University doctoral dissertation, and a photograph; and a microfilm containing letters of condolence and obituary notices at the time of Marriner's death in 1937.

Three scrapbooks of correspondence, documents, and clippings of Zanetti. Scrapbook, 1929-1941, containing clippings about ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND by Lewis Carroll and the Lewis Carroll centenary in 1932; and other unrelated clippings. Scrapbook, 1940-1952, containing correspondence, documents, and memorabilia dealing with Zanetti's World War II Army service with the Chemical Warfare Service in London. Among the correspondents are Omar N. Bradley, Nicholas Murray Butler, W. Averell Harriman, and the 9th Duke of Portland. Scrapbook, 1917-1940, containing correspondence, documents, and memorabilia dealing with Zanetti's World War I Army service with the Chemical Warfare Service in France and his later work with the Army Reserve; and his military medals, 1919-1945.

Letters, manuscripts, notes, memorabilia, photographs, and printed material. Cataloged letters from George Colman the Elder, English dramatist; Lord Jeffrey, Scottish judge and critic; Andrew Lang, Scottish author; Robert Montgomery, English poet; Richard Parsons Rosse,1st Earl of Rosse; George Thomson, friend of Robert Burns and music editor; Bernard De Voto, critic, and S.R. Crockett, Scottish author. Cataloged manuscripts by Thomas Campbell, Scottish poet, James Montgomery, and E.I. Powell. Cataloged diaries of June and Coleman O. Parsons of their trip around the world in 1936-37. There are also ca.700 pages of notes by Coleman O. Parsons on various Scottish authors(including Sir Walter Scott), Scottish folk-lore and history, and Scottish poetry. Most of the notes concern his research on Francis Colman, George Colman the Elder, and George Colman the Younger. In addition there is the mss. for his book "Studies in Eccentricity"; the mss. of an 18th century Scottish ghost story entitled "A Cool Dialogue between the Living and the Dead" and notes and essays on Mark Twain, as well as a poetry album kept by Elizabeth Saynor Marshall and photographs of Parsons in South Africa.

Source materials on Sir James Jay, relating principally to his trip to England to raise funds for King's College, 1762-1763, and to the subsequent lawsuit brought by the Governors of the College to recover funds which he had collected. Letters, documents, and accounts in manuscript as well as photostats of the records in the Public Records Office in London bearing on the legal action are included. There is some personal and biographical material on Jay as well as photostats and other copies of his writings.
