Records of the North American Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy and Medical Bureau to Aid Spanish Democracy, two New York City-based American organizations working to raise funds and provide medical and humanitarian aid for the Republican cause in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), and to refugees who fled Spain after the defeat of the Republican forces in April 1939. The organizations formally merged in January 1938 and became known as the Spanish Refugee Relief Campaign. These files include the organization's official reports, correspondence, pamphlets, broadsides, photographs, and publicity material, as well as several scrapbooks of news clippings.

Gale, Director, Friends of Micronesia, William B. Nabors, a lawyer in the Marianas, and numerous other Micronesians and Americans concerned with Micronesia. There are memoranda by Gutmann and Baldwin as well as lengthy individual memoranda by others including professors Eugene B. Mihaly (University of California, Berkeley) and Leonard Mason (University of Hawaii). Also, miscellaneous notes, a small group of newspaper and magazine clippings, a few selected issues of Micronesian periodicals, and United Nations printed documents relating to Micronesia.

Guichard Parris papers consist of correspondence, diaries, manuscripts, notes and printed material from his personal files, his files on the history of the National Urban League, manuscript material for Blacks in the City; A History of the National Urban League, Boston, Little, Brown, 1971 (co-authored with Lester Brooks) and administrative files of the National Urban League. Parris' personal files include folders on his organizational affiliations outside the National Urban League; of particular interest are copies of his correspondence with Mary McLeod Bethune while he was affiliated with the National Youth Administration. Bethune is among the cataloged correspondence, as are Theodore Roosevelt and Ruth Standish Baldwin.

The correspondence files contain letters from public figures and writers including Jane Addams, Roger N. Baldwin, Van Wyck Brooks, Lavinia L. Dock, John Galsworthy, Samuel Gompers, William D. The collection includes the original manuscript of "Surrender on Demand", Mr. Fry's account of his wartime experiences, which was later rewritten for young readers as "Assignment Rescue" (New York, Four Winds Press, 1968). Among the correspondents represented in the collection are Marc Chagall, Jacques Lipchitz, Roger Baldwin, Norman Thomas, J. Edgar Hoover, and Herman Wouk. In addition to the material relating to the Emergency Relief Committee (later known as the International Rescue Committee), the collection includes correspondence and papers concerning Fry's work as a writer on foreign affairs as well as copies of his books.
