Serge Prokofiev Archive, 1917-2012

Serge Prokofiev (1891–1953) was a Russian and Soviet composer, pianist and conductor, and seminal figure in the history of twentieth-century music. The Serge Prokofiev Archive (SPA) contains 58 original music manuscripts and over 10,000 letters and documents primarily from 1918-1936, the years Prokofiev spent in the West. The SPA also includes an expansive collection of music manuscript copies, published scores, concert programs, scholarly books and articles, photographs, and audio and video material, making it the premier research collection for studying Prokofiev's life, work and legacy.

Speak Art! Interviews:

The books are compilations of interviews based upon a specific theme, Art, Fiction and Poetry, and Theater and Film. Editor-in-Chief Betsy Sussler edited the interviews with the assistance of Suzan Sherman and Rone Shavers. Within this series is printed material, in the form of press releases, invitations to book launches, and tickets, as well as correspondence, artist forms, and financial records. Also included, in both paper and digital formats, are manuscript drafts, proofs with accompanying corrections, photographs, and advertising layouts.

Program for Art on Film (New York N.Y.) records, 1988-1992

Two large binders of interview transcripts with participants in the program, and accompanying photographs. Interviewees: Ernst Gombrich, Judy Marle, Mark Whitney, Arata Isozaki, Taka Iimura, J. J. Brody, Anita Thatcher, Michael Wilson, Ken McMullen, Clyde Syddall, Jerrilyn Dodds, Edin Velez, Barry Bergdoll and Nadine Descendre, Robin Cormack, Adrian Maben, Keith Griffiths and the Quay Brothers, Roger Cardinal, Stephen Murray, Richard Greenburg, David Hockney, Phillip Haas, Richard Brilliant, Robert Rosen and Andrea Simon, Cecil Gould, Bill Cran, John Pinto, and Richard Rogers and Corey Shaff. The interviews were conducted by Janet Sternburg. The binder also includes a final transcript of "Art on Film, Film on Art." The collection also includes two copies of the "Art on Film, Film on Art" video guide published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Trust.
